This Week’s Reflection

As we bring the acknowledgement of Pride in this season of “PrideTide” to a close, we know that our pride in who we are and how God has made us can continue 365 days a year. We can ride the “PrideTide” and use it to encourage and motivate others in their spirituality.

During this season and our annual outreach, we as a community, as a Pride team, as partners with MCC or Northern Virginia (MCC NOVA) came out to make connections and tell people of God’s love.

We have the opportunity to be thoughtful and careful, and spirit filled regarding who we are as a church community, where we would like to go, and how we would like to move forward during this time of transition. Who will we be internally and who will we be to the community outside the walls of the church? What kind of outreach and impact do we desire to have? In your prayer time you can ask God, “What would you have me do, who would you have me be and who can I invite to participate with me?”

On Saturday June 27th at 1pm ET we will be coming together as a community to share with each other our hopes and dreams for the future and to learn more about the process we are undergoing during this time of transition. Everyone is invited to attend onsite or online. Please see the calendar section below for more information. Our engagement is our service.

Our scripture for Sunday is Jeremiah 29: 10-14. In verse 11 God lets us know “I know the plans I have for you; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.” I believe God has plans for us as individuals and as a community. Plans for our future with hopefulness. It is up to each of us to determine how to live and work together in community. What is your gift?

Please join us for service this Sunday at 10:30am ET onsite, online, or on later demand. We will have a special musical guest, Chichi Enu who will bless you.

Peace,
Rev Cathy Alexander
Associate Pastor
