This Week’s Reflection
I recently encountered someone who shared his hurt and pain of rejection because of who he loved as a same-gender loving person. We did not know each other, but in those moments, with vulnerability, he trusted me and shared his story. He had carried the burden of pain from the rejection from family and friends all of his life. He had lost his beloved a few years ago, and there was no empathy or compassion for him during a time when he needed it the most.
He had carried the burden that many of us as Queer individuals, as members of the LGBTQ+ community, have of feeling unloved, unwanted, unworthy, not valued, misjudged, mischaracterized, oppressed, and suppressed. He had carried the burden that many of as Queer individuals have that there is a stigma attached, that there is something “wrong” with us that needs to be “fixed.” That burden that has been carried does not belong on anyone. Let us let go and release the burdens of those labels that others have tried to place on us. God created each of us, thoughtfully, lovingly, with plan and purpose. We are victorious, we are conquerors. We are beloved, we are cherished more than we can ever imagine. We are God’s Handiwork, Wonderfully Made, Fully Known and Fully Loved by God!!!
Loving God, thank you for knowing us, seeing us, creating us with a plan and purpose, and loving us just as we are, freeing us from the burdens of the labels and stigma of society, and knowing the name that you call us by, your beloved children. In your many names we pray, Amen and Ashe.

Suggested donations start at $25.00 per name, yet do not let finances be a barrier.
Cut off each week for submitting new tributes is Friday by 6 pm to provide time to update slides and worship folder for Sunday service.
