McCann Award Updated- August 07, 2026
Reconciliation is the restoration of a broken relationship, moving from hostility and separation to peace and friendship.
God does not expect you to blindly trust someone who has hurt you; just because you are called to forgive or seek peace is a one-way act of letting go of bitterness, but reconciliation and trust require proven safety, repentance, and time. It’s a one-way act of letting go of bitterness, but reconciliation and trust require proven safety, repentance, and time.
Hurt people, hurt others. Healing requires help. We are called to be part of the solution and not the problem. God has called each of us to a ministry of reconciliation.
In our scripture reading this week, you will see Joseph, who was done wrong by the people he loved the most, his brothers. Joseph was the 11th of 12 boys. The older brothers saw him as a threat and plotted to have him killed. The 4th brother decided that we won’t kill him, we will sell him to the Egyptian Slave traders.
Tune in and see how God changed everything for God’s Glory and for the good of Joseph and his dysfunctional family.
Please join your MCCDC family on Sunday at 10:30 am ET online, on site, or later on demand. We look forward to your presence

By Faith
Rev. Dr. Teresa Tygart
