This Week’s Reflection

But the angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He isn’t here, because he’s been raised from the dead, just as he said.” ~Matthew 29:5-6
This time of Lent leading to Resurrection Sunday has been a time of triumph and a time of deep sorrow for our community. We came together to celebrate the blessings and generosity of God, and we also gathered in grief as we heard the news that one in our own community, Beverly Barnett, had passed from life to death. We believe her spirit lives on as we grieve with her family.

This is what the season reminds us to reflect upon. Our relationship with God, our relationship with each other, our responsibility to family, friends, and community. Our inward and outward meditations that develop our character, and sense of integrity hinge on our interior lives. Are we compelled to be alive and in the world or do we sequester ourselves behind closed doors and in the shadows? How do we bring light and love to our surroundings and help those who may be struggling.
This is Holy Week we recognize the time and distance between Jesus entry into Jerusalem, to Good Friday where he was betrayed, arrested, subject to a mock trial and state sponsored execution, and burial. Yet, death did not have the final word. Jesus is off the cross, out of the grave. We celebrate on Resurrection Sunday that he is Alive in the world today in and through each of us.

We hope you and many will join us on Sunday at 10:30 EDT onsite, online, or later on demand. It is our opportunity to join in acting with Jesus for the good of the world.

>h5>Our encouragement is to also be Alive in the World. Come celebrate with your MCCDC family and Worship Arts Ministries that Christ lives. Christ is alive and lives through us. Join us at 10:30 am ET onsite, online, or later on demand.
