This Week’s Reflection

MCCDC - The Place To Be

“Proclaim the mighty acts of the One who called you out of shadows into the marvelous Divine Light.” ~1 Peter 2:9

As we sing our songs, we become the people we are called to be: a people of hope, integrity and light. We have more songs to sing and more stories to tell that proclaim the mighty acts of God.

I love your stories of how God is singing in your souls. Our Tuesday Night Bible Study is back. At our opening session last week, our topic was, “How’s Your Prayer Life?” The stories of the power of prayer were inspiring. It became clear that we are learning so much as a community and we have much to share to meet the needs of the world. You inspire and motivate!

This Sunday, we are grateful for a Sacred Voices Sunday. Chocolatté Miller will share in person at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. Eastern and also online, and later on demand. Longtime member Jacqueline Lois is now an active virtual member and will be sending us her message from Detroit.

In preparation for Sunday, I invite you to reflect on a couple of highlights from our scripture readings:
“Once you were not a people,
but now you are God’s people;
Once you had not received mercy
but now you have received mercy.”
~1 Peter 2:10

My heartfelt gratitude knows no bounds, O Gracious Mender of Souls! ~From Psalm 31; Nan Merrill, Psalms for Praying

What stories and songs are rising in you? If you would like to participate in an upcoming Sacred Voices, email me at RevDwayne@mccdc.com.

Sharing our stories, songs and dreams is a way for us to build and grow a spiritual community that is both in person and virtual, truly Borderfree through the Spirit.

Grace and peace,
Rev. Elder Dwayne Johnson
