MCCDC - The Place To Be

” This Week’s Reflection”

“Be determined and persevere, don’t give in to your fears.” ~Catherine Pulsifer

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the 32nd Olympic Games. The Paralympics start in August. These athletes represent their countries with honor and pride. They want to represent themselves and their countries to the best of their very impressive abilities. Throughout the history of the modern-day Olympics — whether in wartime or peacetime — much of the attention of the world was focused on the Games. At times, the Games were used to make global political statements.

Do you ever wonder what strongly-held belief statement you would make — or ideal you would espouse — if you were given a pulpit on the world stage? How can we make those statements from the pulpits and stages we do have in each of our lives?

Our theme for this season, “Champions of Faith,” serves as a guide for us to consider those in our lives who champion causes, particular ways of living, beliefs, and the very foundation of our faith. The possibilities are endless as we are encouraged to remember those faithful people that we can emulate, and imagine ourselves living in the power of God that is now at work in each of us (Ephesians 3:14-21).

Who looks to you for faith, stability and strength? What are the ways that you persist in your faith journey? On Sunday, feel free to share your thoughts with me in the livestream chat box or email me at revcathy@mccdc.com.

Join us for worship online at 9:00 or 11:00 a.m. this Sunday and remember to follow the attendance link to check in and let us know you’re in service.

Peace,
Rev. Cathy Alexander
MCCDC Associate Pastor
