“MCCDC will be known for the songs we sing and the joy we share. Our transformational stories and vibrant art will open new windows into the loving heart of our Creator.”

~From MCCDC Aspiration Statement

We are a creative community, reflected in many of our ministries. This Sunday, the creativity of our Drama Ministry, led by Rev. Jules Christian, along with Moving Spirit and Eclectic Praise will open new windows into the story of Joseph, his coat of many colors, and so much more.

With a cast of fifteen featuring many generations from our congregation, we’ll engage with the story and open ourselves to new opportunities to experience and share our joy. This presentation will be in place of the regular sermon. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and family who have yet to experience the love of MCCDC! Come early for hospitality at 10AM. The program begins at 10:30AM.

To prepare our hearts for Sunday, I invite you to join me in reflecting on this quote by Ray Charles:

I was born with music inside me.

That’s the only explanation I know. . .

Music was one of my parts.

Like my blood.

It was a force already with me

when I arrived on the scene.

It was a necessity for me—–like food or water.

Music is nothing separate from me. . .

You’d have to remove the music surgically.

See you Sunday at 10:30AM Eastern onsite, online and later on demand.

Grace and Peace,

Rev. Elder Dwayne

Pathways to Generosity, Prayer #109

“Unending gratitude enhances our attitude to realize the Creator’s abundance woven into the fabric of our lives.” C-May Carter

Thank you, God, for the attitude that helps us recognize your abundance that surrounds us in so many expressions—people of all ethnicities throughout the world vibrant as the rainbow that graces the sky, a cheerful smile, a word of encouragement to someone, the joy of waking up each morning, a miraculous healing that amazes the medical profession, or blessing someone in need with a financial gift. We are grateful for the spirit and willingness to share with others the fruits of your prosperity through love, kindness, talents, skills, and abilities.

We are thankful for all spiritual worship places throughout the world, and the most significant space within our hearts where everyone has direct communion with the Holy Spirit, our Comforter. We pray to remain humble in all that we are and all that we do in both giving and receiving of your abundance. God, we thank you for the opportunities to let your precious Light shine through us to magnify your Name. Amen!

“Every worthwhile gift, every genuine benefit comes from above, descending from the Creator of the heavenly luminaries, who cannot change and is never in shadow. God willingly gave birth to us with a word spoken in truth, so that we may be, as it were, the first fruits of God’s creatures.” James 1:17-18 (The First Egalitarian Translation)
