“When we anchor our hope in God’s steady love and good plans for us, hope becomes a permanent part of us. We have hope not because we are powerful or smart or resourceful but because of who God is.” ~Mary Lou Redding
On our crowded planet there is much talk of limited resources. With droughts and overconsumption, fresh water is one of the resources in dwindling supply. For others, the most limited resource is time, and they struggle to find the ever elusive work/life balance. This Sunday, in my message at 10:30 AM ET on-site, on-line and on-demand, we’ll take a more eternal view of resources. The invitation is to view our resources through the lens of eternal supply. With God’s supply, we are called to be weavers of spiritual strength.
When Jesus commissioned the disciples he sent them out with limited physical resources. Yet he assured them that they would have what they need. In this Sunday’s scripture from Luke 24:36-49 Jesus says, “Take note: I am sending forth what God has promised to you. Remain here in the city until you are clothed with power from on high” (v. 49).
In Ephesians 3: 16-21, Paul echoes the radical optimism of Jesus when he says, “I pray that God out of the riches of divine glory, will strengthen you inwardly with power through the works of the Spirit. . .whose power now at work in us can do immeasurably more that we ask or imagine” (vv. 16,20).
This Sunday, join me in imagining how our lives will immeasurably grow as we release ourselves into God’s supply of spiritual strength.
God, you are the greatest Source and Resource of our lives. We praise you as you strengthen us from the inside out. When we find ourselves anxiously trying to control everything, remind us that we are not God. Only you are God. Help us to receive your many gifts, your divine threads of grace, your unlimited supply, for lives that are strong and true. Amen.
By Faith,
Rev. Elder Dwayne Johnson

Pathways to Generosity, Prayer #143
by Clara Carter, MCCDC Prayer Supporter
“God’s generosity abounds within everything that was created. The Lord, our Creator entrusts us to be good stewards of the riches of the earth; and be thankful for all that we are.” ~ Anonymous
Dear God, thank you for trusting us to be good stewards of your abundant creation. We are committed to continue sharing our financial gifts, talents, time, and treasures, and gathering souls into your spiritual realm. We are grateful for the seed of generosity within us to share our blessings with others, and help people in need. Surrounded by your unconditional love and mercy helps us grow in faith and trust you in all things.
Thank you for the freedom to worship you from our hearts, God. We are thankful for spiritual worship places everywhere, a beloved, inclusive community where everyone is invited to enter into your loving grace. We pray that all people have joy and abundance, good health and prosperity beyond measure. We are grateful for answered prayers, for healing miracles, and for protecting us from harm and danger. Praise you in your precious names! Amen
“Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness, and of Your praise all the day long.” Psalm 35:27-28
