This week, we begin a new series titled “Moving Forward in Faith.” Between now and Advent, a variety of speakers will explore different aspects of this theme. Each week, we will journey deeper into our faith together through the following topics:

Throughout this series, we will encourage one another to take the next faithful move, both as individuals and as a community. Although our community is experiencing a season of transition, we are not standing still or living in limbo.
Instead, we continue to build on MCCDC’s 55-year legacy of community presence, meaningful connection, and service to others both within and beyond our church walls.
This week, I invite you to reflect on how God is calling you to move forward in faith and how we, as a community, can do the same. As Hebrews 11:1 reminds us, faith is “confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Let us move forward boldly with faith, hope, and confidence.

You can participate in this oral history project by creating a video recording of yourself answering the following questions:

Honoring Our Loved Ones on All Saints Day!
All Saints Day falls on Sunday, November 1st this year. To celebrate the beautiful lives of the friends and family members who have gone before us, we will feature a community photo memorial during and after our Sunday service.
If you would like to honor a loved one, please submit their picture by October 18th. You can email your file to generosityteam@mccdc.com or upload it online at your submission by clicking link. Thank you for helping us remember them in community.
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
September 15 – October 15
Every year, we pause to celebrate and honor Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month. This special month recognizes the rich roots, histories, futures, and contributions—the diverse lived experiences—of Latino/a/e/x individuals and communities.
At MCCDC, we acknowledge that these experiences include an ongoing commitment to work for equity and justice, joy and peace. This sacred work has always occurred both within and beyond our church walls, echoing throughout MCC as a global spiritual community.
As we celebrate this month, let us all be encouraged to keep up that work in care and love. We invite you to join us in honoring our siblings, listening to their stories, and continuing our shared journey toward a more just and loving world.

Are you looking to make a difference?
We are looking for some volunteers or better known as “office angels” to come in and work in the office during the week.
Office volunteers to assist with tasks like filing, answering phones, updating phone lists, and escorting contractors onsite.
We would love to get 4-5 volunteers so we could rotate the coverage in the office during the week.

Whether you are looking for a deeper way to engage in worship or want to offer a ministry of presence, there is a place for you here.
You can serve in a variety of meaningful ways:
* Co-Celebrant: Stand at the altar and help lead the table.
* Prayer Server: Administer communion and offer prayerful support to those receiving.
* Elements Bearer: Hold the bread/wafer and juice during the service.
No prior experience is necessary! We will provide all the training you need. All that is required is a willing heart, an open spirit, and a little time to serve periodically during worship.
