Have you ever heard the saying, “Prayer changes things”? We often describe ourselves as a praying congregation and affirm the power of prayer, but what does that truly mean for our lives together? How do we nurture a life of prayer, both in private and in community?
The importance of prayer cannot be overstated. Throughout Scripture, we are invited, encouraged, and taught to pray. We see examples of carefully spoken prayers and heartfelt cries from the depths of the soul. At its core, prayer is about relationship: drawing closer to God and being transformed by God’s love and presence.
The Scripture passage for this week may sound familiar because it is the same one we reflected on last Sunday. This time, however, we will focus on God’s vision of a House of Prayer for All People. And when God says all, God truly means all.
As we reflect on this passage, we are invited to examine our hearts and our community. Can we honestly say that we are a house of prayer for all people? A place where everyone is welcomed, valued, and loved? Or do we sometimes allow the divisions and exclusions of the world around us to shape the way we see others?.
God calls us to something greater. God calls us to be a holy community where relationships are nurtured, promises are honored, and all people find a place to belong. A community where outcasts are welcomed, those on the margins are centered, and barriers and power structures that separate us are dismantled. Rather than following the patterns of society, we are invited to live as people of compassion, justice, and radical hospitality.
I believe prayer is where that transformation begins. Through prayer, God moves our hearts, broadens our vision, and equips us to become the kind of community that Isaiah envisioned and that Jesus embodied.
This week, I invite you to spend time in prayer. Ask God to reveal where you can be a source of welcome, reconciliation, and hope. Pray for our congregation as we continue to grow into God’s house of prayer for all people.

We are looking for some volunteers or better known as “office angels” to come in and work in the office during the week.
Office volunteers to assist with tasks like filing, answering phones, updating phone lists, and escorting contractors onsite.

* Co-Celebrant: Stand at the altar and help lead the table.
* Prayer Server: Administer communion and offer prayerful support to those receiving.
* Elements Bearer: Hold the bread/wafer and juice during the service.
No prior experience is necessary! We will provide all the training you need. All that is required is a willing heart, an open spirit, and a little time to serve periodically during worship.
