Pursue the Lord and God’s strength; seek the
face of the Divine always! Remember the wondrous works God has done, all the Lord’s marvelous works, and the justice declared. “~Psalm 105

What does pursuit of the strength of the Lord look and feel like? How do we experience it? How do we encourage others to pursue as well so that they can be fulfilled and encouraged? Psalm 105 encourages us to pursue God’s strength and remember God’s wonderous, marvelous, justice filled works. God can work these amazing works in kindness, strength, weakness, through fear, anger, and ultimately towards justice. How do we as Jesus followers and justice seekers let those memories of God’s works propel us to continue to work and be present for others? God holds our hearts in Divine love and encourages us to love God, self, neighbor.

As a community of faith, MCCDC has served not only as a hub of activity and a community meeting place, yet we have also served as a beacon of strength and presence for our neighborhood. We have a chance to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors and beyond. Our community is expanding and we can put out the welcome mat both physically and electronically. The communities we serve are far reaching and we can have impact far beyond the walls of our community. How can we equip and educate ourselves to serve people’s needs in this ever-changing environment?

This is grounded in how we live out our identity and our MCCDC core values and mission:

Our Core Values
SPIRITUAL INSPIRATION: We offer worship, education, prayer, and spiritual formation opportunities, helping people experience Christ in Body, Mind, and Soul.

CONNECTION: We embrace the gifts of inclusion, bringing diverse people together for discovery, friendship, fun, and support.
ENGAGEMENT: We put faith into action, serving for, and with, our Neighborhood and Community.
INNOVATION: We strive to be open to new ideas, learning together, and thinking in terms of the future.

Our Mission
We are creating a powerful inclusive spiritual community, working with God to make a positive difference.

This Sunday we will welcome Ms. Chakeri Merchison, Director of the Early Leaner’s Academy (ELA), as our guest. The Academy meets in the sanctuary and on the lower-level Monday through Friday. Ms. Murchison will be with us to let our community know a bit more about her organization, outreach, and their work in the community through MCCDC’s space

Please join your MCCDC family on Sunday at 10:30 am ET online, on site, or later on demand. We look forward to your presence

Peace,
Rev Cathy Alexander
Associate Pastor
