God has been intimately involved with the affairs of God’s creation since the beginning. In Solomon’s case as a child king, God asked Solomon what do you want me to do for you? Solomon at age 12 asked God for wisdom to lead God’s people; and God honored his unselfish request. It was what he needed to be successful in leading God’s people

Throughout the scriptures, when people would cry out to God, God would meet their need. If God knows what we need, why do we have to ask? James 4 teaches that we don’t have what we need because we don’t ask God.

This past week of Passover, I have been watching “The Chosen”, a series on Prime, which is a series about Jesus as told by those who walked with him and knew him best. I’m reminded of all the people who followed Jesus during his earthly ministry and how the crowds got bigger and bigger. Why were the crowds so large surrounding Jesus, you may ask? Jesus’ signs and wonders, aka miracles, were attention-getters. His words spoke to them; thousands would sit all day long just to hear what he had to say to them. Jesus was moved with compassion at their plight.

Think back to the Exodus from Egypt as God used Moses to move God’s people out of bondage to a place of freedom. There is a common theme throughout scripture of what might move the Hand and Heart of God. Let’s explore that together.

What do you need from God? Is anything too hard for our God?

Join us this Sunday, and invite your family and friends, for our Worship Service at 10:30 AM Eastern on-site, on-line and on-demand.

Blessings

Dr Rev. Teresa Tygart

Pathways to Generosity, Prayer #138

by Clara Carter, MCCDC Prayer Supporter

“. . . You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you’re not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.” ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

Dear God, we are humbly grateful for the generous gift of eternal life through your son, Jesus Christ. Many years ago, when the world was without hope you showed your love for all people. It did not matter what race, or gender, or religion, this was a life-changing event for everyone. You have invited all people to accept this precious gift.

Today, we are witnessing people who are suffering greatly. Hear our pleas and cries, and help us to continue trusting you in all things, and take right action where appropriate. You alone, give us the authority to lead prosperous lives through faith-building and patience as we move forward during unsettling times. You are our strength, our safe place where we are encouraged to engage in the marathon towards rightness and freedom for all people.

We are grateful for spiritual worship spaces where all people share generously of their blessings—talents, time, financial gifts, special skills and treasures. As your beloved community, we were chosen to perform great works to magnify your name according to your purpose planned from the beginning. Thank you
for the opportunities to worship you, love you, to love and help one another as our Savior taught while here on earth. We praise you for the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, who guides us amidst trials and temptations on our life journey. We thank you in your many precious names! Amen

“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper . . . Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you.” Jeremiah 29:7-8 (NIV)
