MCCDC - The Place To Be

“My prayer became ‘May I find peace. . .May I love this life no matter what.’ I was seeking an inner refuge, an experience of presence and wholeness that could carry me through whatever losses might come.” ~Tara Brach

The Season of Pridetide invites us to find our sense of worth through God’s love for us. Pride is not found in such externals as designer labels. Our Pride flows from the inside out centered in our sacred worth.

1 Peter 2:9-10 offers resounding clarity in defining us: “You are a chosen people. You are a royal priesthood. You are singers of praises to the One who called you out of fear into the wonders of divine love. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God.”

This Sunday and in upcoming weeks through Pride season we will open ourselves to the grace we experience when we explore the joy of being a Community of Belonging, celebrating and honoring our true colors. Our God, the creator of rainbows in the sky, invites us to be a rainbow people. We move together on the way to wholeness. We offer friendship and support.

To celebrate Pride is to rise up as LGBTQ+ peoples and offer counter voices to the voices of injustice, division and oppression. And our rising thrives as we behold the wonders of divine love.

Yes, we are a people. We are singers of praise. We navigate fear and grow stronger. We explore the wonders of divine love. We live the fullness of our colors. Increasingly, we live into our wholenes

Grace and peace,
Rev. Elder Dwayne Johnson
