JOIN US SUNDAY AT 9AM & 11AM
Mother Emanuel AMEThis Sunday at MCCDC we will align our prayers with the prayers of Jesus, and the families of the nine in Charleston. Though they lost their lives, their souls give voice to all who believe that love is greater than hate, even when it seems that hate has the upper hand.

JESUS WEEPS: MOTHER EMANUEL AME

In Luke 19:41 Jesus weeps over Jerusalem. Today, Jesus weeps over Charleston and the nine beloved members of Emanuel AME who lost their lives to racist gun-fire. The tears of Jesus are offered to all suffering from racism, including the racists. Jesus weeps as he stands in the tragic gap, praying for Soul Force in the midst of hate crimes in their many manifestations.

This Sunday at MCCDC we will align our prayers with the prayers of Jesus, and the families of the nine in Charleston. Though they lost their lives, their souls give voice to all who believe that love is greater than hate, even when it seems that hate has the upper hand.

Worship this Sunday will be a time to share spiritual strength together. There will be tears. There will also be light and healing and praise to our God who leads us back to the Center of Joy and gives us courage to work for hope during times of trial.

In preparation for our 9AM & 11AM worship I invite you to pray with me:

God of grace and mercy, today we pray for the nine who tragically lost their lives to violence and hatred. We also pray for the countless who grieve around the world due to the many forms of hatred, both covert and overt.

revDwane5You have called us as Your beloveds to create a new community and a new world. Give us the courage to break through all silence and fear to proclaim compassion and justice with every breath. Lead us in the ways of Your vision and order our steps after Your own heart.
In the name of Jesus and all that is Holy, Amen.
Stronger Together,

Rev. Dwayne
