Rev Cathy Alexander, Associate Pastor
Rev. Cathy began her ministry on staff with MCCDC in October 2012. As Associate Pastor, she is responsible for development and coordination of spiritual and affinity based programming to assist people in connecting and engaging in the life of the MCCDC. She is also responsible for coordinating volunteer engagement programs and would enjoy speaking with you about your spiritual giftedness and your passions for ministry. She is also the church’s business, operations, and financial manager.
Cathy has a passion for serving God and God’s people through music, a variety of spiritual practices, and through process and systems approaches. She brings a wealth of ministerial and non church based experience. Cathy began her ministry on staff with MCCDC in October 2012. As Associate Pastor she is responsible for development and coordination of spiritual and affinity based programming to assist people in connecting and engaging in the life of the MCCDC. She is also responsible for coordinating volunteer engagement programs and would enjoy speaking with you about your spiritual giftedness and your passions for ministry. She is also the church’s business, operations, and financial manager.
She brings a wealth of ministerial and non church based experience to MCCDC, and has served in various leadership and team capacities throughout the MCC denomination. Some of these key areas include chairing the MCC Governing Board Nominating Committee, serving as a member of the MCC Judiciary Committee, the People of African Descent Conference Planning Team, and co-lead of the Network Team for the US Eastern Network.
Cathy was born and raised in Williamsburg, VA and is a retired military officer and a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and of Wesley Theological Seminary where she earned her Masters of Divinity degree with honors.

Melvin Moore Adams, Church Administrator
Welcome Mr. Melvin Moore Adams as MCCDC’s new Church Administrator. He most recently worked as the office manager for a mental health clinic near Largo, Md. Before that, he held administrative and IT manager roles at several non-profit advocacy groups in DC. Mr. Moore Adams has a Bachelor’s degree in religious studies from Hampden-Sydney College and has also pursued a Master of Divinity degree.
