MCCDC: Live Well. Love Well. Healing.

“As soon as healing takes place, go out and heal somebody else.”
~ Maya Angelou

Healing happens on multiple levels. In our Gospel this Sunday for the 4th Sunday in Lent, Jesus offers healing that meets expectations and confounds expectations. (John 9:1-17). Healing is received with joy. For others, the healing raises questions, fears and accusations. With healing comes change, and some don’t know how to handle it.

In preparation for Sunday, I invite you to reflect and pray about these questions:

~Considering what is happening in our world and nation,
what healing is needed on spiritual, emotional and cognitive levels?

~What can MCCDC or any local congregation offer
to support healing that is different than social service agencies or non-profits?

~How does transformation disrupt what is comfortable?

~How may pre-conceived ideas block openings to healing?

My prayer is that we would receive healing, to be healers in our world. See you Sunday at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

By Faith, Rev. Elder Dwayne Johnson

MCCDC is going live! We have an opportunity to use of our AV system to reach outside our walls to many people who may not be able to join us in person. To make this happen we must have a subscription service that will provide us the ability to stream our services, concerts and special events, and expand opportunities for participation in our bible studies and other activities remotely. The testing done so far with streaming has generated a lot of excitement, particularly by those who have been unable to visit our church.

You can be a part of making this happen in a number of ways: (1) pray for our reach beyond the walls of our church (2) join others in donating to cover the one-time annual cost of the service and associated AV training for our volunteers; and (3) consider joining the AV ministry.
